Dear Savio, During tonight's Strategic Trader webinar, we plan to discuss the FAANGM stocks' effect on the S&P 500 and potential explanations for this week's bullishness. Despite the 4.8% contraction in U.S. gross domestic product, 26 million unemployed U.S. citizens and ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the S&P 500 opened higher today and held onto its gains. Many factors contribute to investors' attitudes and the S&P 500's behavior. Gilead Sciences' (GILD) news that its drug Remdesivir can be an effective treatment in some COVID-19 patients has likely given investors hope about the eventual end of the pandemic. But in today's Weekly Update, we focused on the outsized effect Facebook (FB), Amazon (AMZN), Apple (AAPL), Alphabet (GOOGL) and Microsoft (MSFT) have on the index. Together, they make up over 20% of the S&P 500's total market capitalization. Because the index is market-cap weighted, the behavior of these stocks can make it hard to tell what's really happening in the market. When they rise, the S&P 500 is usually rising. To get a better idea of what the market is doing, we'll have to look elsewhere, and tonight we'll give our overview of the market. We'll also review all of our current positions and answer as many other subscriber questions as we can. To attend tonight's webinar, live at 8 p.m. ET click here To watch the archived version of our webinars, click this link. Tonight's webinar should be posted by about 10 p.m. ET today. And during the week, you can send us your subscription and options-trading questions at Feedback@InvestorPlace.com.
