WARNING: You're playing with dynamite if you own these stocks

Hi Reader, Fair warning… What I’m about to say might be controversial. But that doesn’t make it any less true. There’s a new development accelerating across America . And it’s on pace to destroy millions of American’s life savings over the next few years. This new development is far more dangerous to your wealth than taxes or any politician. Here’s the story… Over the last 2 years, I’ve dedicated nearly every waking minute to understanding and documenting a technological force known as the “Technochasm.” This force is responsible for the accelerating destruction of the world’s most prominent businesses and brands. For example, in 10 years or less nearly 50% of all Fortune 500 companies will be extinct... or replaced by a startup you haven’t heard of. In other words, millio

Update: Your Complete Innovative Guide to Earnings Season

Image
Your Complete Innovative Guide to Earnings Season Luke Lango Earnings season has arrived – and thus far, it has not disappointed! I'm sure you've noticed. A lot of companies are smashing first-quarter estimates. Amazon crushed estimates. So did Facebook and Microsoft . Alphabet absolutely won the season. They aren't alone… Through late April, about a quarter of S&P 500 companies have reported Q1 numbers. So far, 77% have beaten revenue estimates and 84% have beaten earnings estimates. If those numbers seem high, well, that's because they are! If those "beat rates" hold up, they'll be the best numbers on record (since 2008, when FactSet started tracking beat rates). Even more impressive, companie

Strategic Trader Alert: Withdrawing Our Profits from Bank of America

Image
Any week that the S&P 500 sets a new all-time high is a good week on Wall Street. ALERT Apr 30, 2021   Withdrawing Our Profits from Bank of America Dear Savio, Any week that the S&P 500 sets a new all-time high -- like the index did on Thursday when it hit 4,218.78 -- is a good week on Wall Street. This bullish momentum helped Bank of America ( BAC ) climb to a new 52-week high of its own this week. BAC broke through the resistance level at $40 that had been limiting the stock all month and hit $41.13 on Thursday. The stock is pulling back a bit from yesterday's highs, and we wouldn't be surprised to see it pull back and consolidate for a while longer now that it has established a new hi

Webinar Recap: Why We're Not Worried About Inflation... Yet

Image
Did you miss the Strategic Trader webinar last night? Apr 29, 2021 Dear Savio, Did you miss the Strategic Trader webinar last night? If so, be sure to check out the recording to see what's happening on Wall Street this week. The Federal Reserve made its latest policy announcement on Wednesday and reiterated that it is optimistic about economic growth despite potential inflation pressures. Our key takeaway from the announcement was the Fed's assertion that inflation is transitory, or temporary, and we mostly agree with that premise. Questions? You don't have to wait until next week's webinar! Send us an email at Feedback@InvestorPlace.com .  However, we don't want to assume that inflation is never

AdviserOnline Hotline: PRIMECAP versus Buffett

Image
The Independent Adviser for Vanguard Investors HOTLINES NEWS ISSUES PRIMECAP versus Buffett Hello, this is Jeff DeMaso with the FFSA Vanguard Hotline for Thursday, April 29 th . There are no changes recommended for any of our Model Portfolios . The U.S. economy is in recovery mode. The government's first estimate indicates the economy grew at a 6.4% annualized pace in the first quarter. The personal consumption component of GDP, the biggest part of the economy, grew at a 10.7% annualized rate. And remember that this activity was during the early stages of the vaccine rollout. I'm expecting that there is a lot of pent-up consumer demand being released right now as more and more people are vaccinated, which means we should see even greater GDP growth in the current quarter and the months to come. We won't just be "recovering" for much longer—soon the U.S. economy will be back in ex

You’ve made a boat load of money… and there’s still a boat load more to be made. The crypto market has tested our patience in recent weeks, but that’s okay. Because we’ll continue to think big picture and big profits. We’ll continue to think long term. And we’ll continue to think realistically. We know that prices can’t go up every day, and we know that we

Listen to the Special Market Podcast for an update on the latest market gyrations. Flash Alert Apr 29, 2021 Dear Savio, The broader market rallied nicely this morning, with the S&P 500 climbing to a new intraday 52-week high. This morning’s strength is largely due to bank stocks reporting strong earnings results, topping analysts’ earnings and sales expectations and giving positive future guidance. Now, there are also companies that have posted solid results but were hit with some profit-taking -- and that's primarily due to slowing earnings and sales momentum. So, I wanted to send you a Special Market Podcast to further discuss the first-quarter earnings season, as well as… Recent reports from Enphase Energy, Inc. (ENPH), Generac Holdings Inc. (GNRC) and ServiceNow, Inc. (NOW) Yesterday’s FOMC statement President Biden’s joint address to Congress The robust economic recovery Growing f

Smart Money: Our Best Stock of 2020 Could Become the Best Stock of 2021

Freeport clearly hasn't finished its recent epic run. Brought to you by INVESTORPLACE Our Best Stock of 2020 Could Become the Best Stock of 2021 Eric Fry Back in late 2019, I chose Freeport-McMoRan Inc. (FCX) as my pick in the InvestorPlace.com  Best Stocks for 2020 contest . And with 99% returns in 2020, the global copper giant came in No. 1 among the picks from InvestorPlace's top analysts… giving me bragging rights at company cocktail parties for at least the next few years. Freeport, indeed, has been the gift that keeps on giving for members of my Speculator and Fry's Investment Report services. We've taken triple-and even quadruple-digit profits several times over the past couple of years on various FCX positions. Thing is… Freeport ha
